BMCC Receives Funds From Second Round of $175 Million Workforce Development Initiative 
BMCC will receive $648,000 and is among six CUNY colleges to receive funding through the $48 million, second round of the $175 million New York State Workforce Development Initiative announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The funds will support strategic regional efforts that help New Yorkers find quality, well-paid jobs and further New York's goal to Reimagine, Rebuild, and Renew from the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blackstone LaunchPad Expands Access to Networks in Support of Student Entrepreneurial Endeavors
Blackstone LaunchPad announced that it has expanded access to its student venture and entrepreneurial skill-building program to students at BMCC along with eight other City University of New York (CUNY) colleges across all five New York City boroughs. Blackstone LaunchPad’s network will provide students at BMCC with the resources and opportunities to support their entrepreneurial endeavors and career ambitions. The Blackstone Charitable Foundation has committed $6 million to the program.

Solomon Professor Golda Solomon Wins Arts Initiative Award 
Associate Professor Golda Solomon, an adjunct in the BMCC Speech, Communications and Theatre Arts department since 1968, has won a $2,500 Yonkers Arts Initiative Award from Arts Westchester in White Plains for her volunteer work as co-editor of the Community Writing Project Journal On Line and Archived at Blue Door Art Center (BDAC) where she is poet-in-residence. The award also recognizes her project Make W.A.V.E.S. (Writing, Activism, Values, Empowerment, Sharing), creative writing and page-to-performance workshops sponsored in part by Poets & Writers in collaboration with the Yonkers Riverfront Library, BDAC and Hudson River Adventures.
CUNY Return-to-Office Date Moved to August 16: COVID Vaccine or Negative Test Required to Enter Campus 
CUNY has moved the return to in-person work start date from August 2 to August 16, in response to requests for additional time for campuses to prepare. Starting August 16, anyone entering a CUNY facility will need to be fully vaccinated—two weeks beyond the second vaccination shot—or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the past seven days. CUNY Students Registering for In-Person Classes Must Submit Vaccine Documentation by September 14
CUNY students attending in-person and hybrid classes for the Fall 2021 semester are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Students must submit vaccination documentation by September 14. CUNY has posted up-to-date guidance that includes requirements, deadlines, exemptions and other details so students can be ready for the start of the semester on August 25. 
CUNY BMCC Hosts Vaccination Clinic, August 10 
BMCC is offering an opportunity for all students, faculty and staff to receive the vaccine to fight COVID-19 on Tuesday, August 10, between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. at CUNY in The Heights, located at 5030 Broadway in Upper Manhattan. The BMCC community is encouraged to bring family and friends to get the vaccine as well. As a reminder, it is anticipated that, with limited accommodation exceptions, all students attending in-person (including hybrid) classes at all CUNY schools will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the start of the Fall 2021 semester. Reserve your spot! (recommended). ID Services Available for Students, Staff and Faculty Throughout August
As part of BMCC’s preparations for the Fall 2021 semester, students, faculty and staff can obtain a new official BMCC ID card weekdays in August from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. in front of the gym. City Were You in Lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001?
As the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, BMCC invites students, faculty, staff and alumni who were present in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001 or were a member of the BMCC community that semester and school year, to share their experiences. A planning committee led by VP Marva Craig is organizing the college's commemoration of this important milestone and there will be a variety of platforms through which to participate. Please begin by completing this form.

Faculty and staff can answer their BMCC office phone from any device, anywhere with the Ring Central service. Download the RingCentral app from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. The app can be installed on a PC, Mac or other personal device. West Street Enter 199 Chambers Street at West Street Entrance While Ramp Is Closed 
To complete the Plaza Roofing Replacement Project, ramp access to the BMCC entrance at 199 Chambers Street is off-limits and access to the main campus is through the West Gate on West Street. As you walk west on Chambers Street, turn right at the intersection of Chambers and West Street, and the West Gate will be about 200 feet north. Public Safety staff and signage will help guide you. Thank you for your cooperation.

Fall Express

Register Now for Fall Express Sessions 
BMCC is offering two Fall 2021 express sessions: A 7-week express session, September 1 through October 26 and an 8-week express session October 27 through December 21. (The regular 15-week Fall 2021 session will be August 25 through December 21.) All students are welcome to enroll in the Fall 2021 express sessions, but they are ideal for part-time students or new and continuing students who miss registration for the regular 15-week session. Please note, there will be limited course offerings in the express sessions and some financial aid limitations. Students are encouraged to speak with an advisor to see if the Express Sessions are the best option for them. Here are registration instructions.

Application Workshop Walks Students Through the Process 
Every Tuesday at 3 p.m., admissions specialists will answer questions and explain how to complete the BMCC application or apply as a readmit student. BMCC uses the CUNY Application to admit new students, and in these sessions, staff will walk students through the whole process—from completing the CUNY application online to figuring out how to send BMCC their school transcripts to complete their applications.

Information Session Demystifies Majors, Financial Aid and More 
On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m, BMCC admissions specialists will share information about major options, financial aid, career planning and more.

Stay Connected with the Office of Admissions 
Students who prefer communicating via chat, can ask general questions about BMCC on Fridays at 3 p.m., through one-on-one chat sessions.
