Academy of Leadership and Service
The Academy of Leadership and Service provides students at BMCC the opportunity to gain leadership training through various workshops, community engagement, and networking opportunities.
P.L.U.S. (Partners Lending Universal Support) gives students an opportunity to perform community service on campus, for the benefit of the entire college community. Students are able to represent the college at various on and off campus activities. The P.L.U.S. program is the service-based component of the Academy.
Students accepted into the program will participate in and learn all about the services and programs that BMCC has to offer. As Partners, students will gain valuable skills to complement their academic experience. Student Partners also attend workshops to build professional skills in areas such as public speaking, and etiquette, along with leadership training in social change and civic responsibility.

Volunteer Opportunities
BMCC Engaged in Service Together (BEST) provides co-curricular opportunities for students to engage in their communities while enriching their academic careers through service. BEST creates these opportunities for civic and community engagement by partnering with several not-for-profit volunteer agencies throughout the five boroughs.
Through BEST, the BMCC community of students, faculty and staff work together to provide volunteer services to the broader New York community through monthly on-going volunteer opportunities for students as well as one to two large service projects throughout the academic year. BEST students gain valuable practical experiences in leadership, fundraising, business management, civic engagement, communication, and customer service. Peer Mentoring
The Peer Mentor program connects successful continuing students with new students and those in academic difficulty. Peer Mentors will be trained to become a support resource for their mentees in adjusting to the academic and social expectations of college life. Peer mentors will be a key partner in helping their fellow students succeed at BMCC.
